Job Summary

Nurtur Aveda Institutes is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Aid Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our admissions and financial aid team, you will play a critical role in guiding prospective students through the financial aid process and ensuring a seamless enrollment experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Aid Counseling: Provide comprehensive one-on-one counseling to prospective students, ensuring that their Title IV funding plan is accurate and consistent with their financial eligibility.
  • Financial Aid Process Support: Assist prospective students in navigating and completing the Institutes financial aid process, requirements, and available payment and funding options.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on financial aid programs, scholarship opportunities, and other financial assistance resources available to students.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with the Admissions and Financial Aid Team to ensure annual enrollment goals are achieved.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Communicate effectively and consistently with the Department Lead and Director of Business Operations, and provide exceptional customer service to prospective students.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred.
  • Experience: Prior work experience in Financial Aid, Collections, or Sales.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work at a fast pace and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • FAFSA Verification Specialist Experience: Experience working with FAFSA verification processes and procedures.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Salesforce, Avochato, or similar texting and dialing software.
Work Environment

The Financial Aid Counselor will work in an office environment, with occasional travel to events and for out-of-state training and Institute visits as necessary.
