Operations Manager for AWS Advertising

Overview: The AWS Brand Advertising & Social team is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee vendor management, budgeting processes, and business rhythm requirements.

Opportunity: This role places you at the nexus of data, analysis, and strategic planning, enabling our teams to execute exceptional mass advertising campaigns that enhance the AWS brand's visibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a structured business rhythm, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews, operational planning cycles, and 2x2s.
  • Lead the management and onboarding of all advertising vendors and creative agencies.
  • Oversee budgeting tasks within AMPS, including forecasting, creating and maintaining sub-budgets, and managing internal transfers for social media promotions.
  • Collaborate with Finance to validate data and provide insights for monthly financial reviews.
  • Support the tracking of contracts, purchase orders, invoicing, and internal transfers.
  • Conduct trend analysis to identify relationships and opportunities, highlight strengths, and recommend corrective actions, incorporating data visualization techniques.
  • Develop methodologies and reports for effective data analysis and presentation.
  • Perform complex data analysis across various systems to fulfill both scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests.

About the Team: The Brand Advertising and Global Social Media Team (GSMT) enhances AWS's brand awareness through tailored content and serves as a platform to communicate key messages, such as generative AI and machine learning, through compelling visual storytelling across mass-reach channels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) and SQL.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience in process improvements.
  • Experience in stakeholder management across various organizational levels.
  • Experience in building processes, project management, and scheduling.
