Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Department of Biochemistry at West Virginia University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team. As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our principal investigator on a cutting-edge research project focused on investigating the mechanistic roles of protein machinery involved in protein degradation.
This project has significant implications for fundamental cell biology, cancer, and neurodegenerative disease. You will have the chance to develop and conduct experiments rigorously and independently, contribute to peer-reviewed journals, and assist in mentoring junior lab members.
Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments using various in vitro and in vivo methods
- Contribute to peer-reviewed journals and present research findings
- Assist in mentoring junior lab members and contribute to a collaborative research environment
- Work effectively with others to achieve research goals
- Manage time and workload efficiently to meet project deadlines
We are seeking a highly qualified candidate with a Ph.D. in a biomedical program, such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Structural Biology, or Biophysics. Experience in enzymology, protein purification, cell culture, and C. elegans is highly desirable. Basic biomedical wet lab skills, including PAGE, western blotting, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, protein expression and purification, are necessary.
