Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team at the West Virginia University Research Corporation. The successful candidate will participate in research and training activities in the Barbier and Damron Laboratories with a focus on developing monoclonal antibodies against pathogens.
The candidate will utilize cutting-edge technologies such as hybridoma, memory B cell cloning, and mRNA antibody production to develop antibody drugs against pathogens. The position will involve further development of research in this field, laboratory management, and mentoring.
As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the development of monoclonal antibodies for therapeutic applications. You will also have the chance to collaborate with other researchers and scientists to advance our understanding of immunology and microbiology.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in the field of monoclonal antibodies with a focus on areas such as antibody engineering, applications of therapeutic antibodies, and antibody-antigen interactions.
- Develop and implement research projects, including the design and execution of experiments.
- Collaborate with other researchers and scientists to advance our understanding of immunology and microbiology.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate students in the lab.
- Train lab members on protocols and procedures, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
- Gather, record, interpret, and present data resulting from research activities.
- Participate in the preparation of progress reports for grants and contracts.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Microbiology, Microbial pathogenesis, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the following:
- Strong background in antibodies and/or molecular biology.
- Experience with animal models of infection is required.
