Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team at the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University.
The successful candidate will conduct research on high-temperature electrochemistry for energy materials, including solid oxide fuel cells/electrolysis cells, and carry out research activities such as materials synthesis, process development, device fabrication, and electrochemical characterization/analysis.
The position involves planning laboratory experiments to confirm the feasibility of processes and techniques used in the production of materials having special characteristics in solid oxide cell electrochemical systems, searching scientific literature to select and modify methods and procedures most appropriate for research goals, writing research papers and project reports, mentoring graduate students/undergraduate students in related research projects, and providing aid on grant proposals to secure funding for their work.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering has 18 faculty members and approximately 250 undergraduate and 67 doctoral students. The Department offers degrees at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels in both chemical and biomedical engineering.
The Statler College has seven academic departments, over 3,800 students, and 135 faculty members, with about $42 Million in annual external research expenditures. The Statler College is nationally recognized for high quality teaching, excellent research, and outstanding faculty and students.
QualificationsEligible candidates must hold a Ph.D. in materials science, chemical, or electrical engineering, or a related area and two (2) years of experience in electrochemical research.
