Position Overview

The Inside Sales & Support Representative is an individual who thrives on engaging with customers, executing campaigns, and managing strategic initiatives. This role involves providing administrative assistance and conducting extensive outreach to identify new sales prospects. The primary focus is on promoting a range of research-based K-12 English Language Arts and mathematics products, with two main objectives: first, to generate interest and drive sales of both print and digital educational resources to current and prospective clients, supported by a revenue target and sales incentive structure. Second, this position requires collaboration and efficiency in providing direct support to colleagues, customers, and potential clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize an outbound sales strategy, employing needs-based consultative selling to assist clients in achieving their objectives through EPS products and services.
  • Establish multi-tiered relationships with accounts to market and sell EPS offerings to existing and prospective customers within the designated territory.
  • Identify and target specific B2B partners within the assigned area.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to understand the alternative channels business and develop a comprehensive market strategy.
  • Leverage CRM tools to manage time and resources effectively, providing updated insights, competitive intelligence, and market trends to our clients.
  • Assist with requests for quotes, modifications, and updates.
  • Facilitate communication with distribution and order management teams to ensure awareness of inventory requirements for large orders.
  • Ensure Technical Support Representatives have the necessary information for digital order license activation and coordinate meetings as needed.
  • Organize professional learning discussions and pre-sales engagements as required.
  • Manage the process for sending samples to potential customers and oversee the supplies needed by the Sales Team during travel.
  • For new clients, act as a liaison between the EPS Contracts Team and Purchasing Offices to ensure proper vendor registration and tax exemption documentation. Foster a positive, collaborative selling environment by understanding customer needs and leveraging internal resources to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Support and sell directly to international clients.
  • Demonstrate the ability to overcome objections and handle customer rejections effectively.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and follow up on all sales leads.
  • Encourage ongoing growth by transitioning customers to our online order-entry platform.
  • Work closely with clients to assess needs, articulate solutions, define products, and prepare quotes.
  • Contribute to sales forecasting, marketing strategies, and self-education on products and applications.
  • Attend sales meetings, national and regional conferences, trade shows, and occasional strategic customer meetings.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3-4 years of sales experience, preferably in a Sales Development Representative role.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism, ethics, confidence, and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Possess an engaging and goal-oriented demeanor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to deliver presentations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for company events or key customer engagements.
