Assistant Director of Housekeeping Job Description

At Brittain Resorts & Hotels, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Housekeeping to join our team. As a key member of our housekeeping department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout our resort.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the housekeeping department, ensuring all areas of the resort are clean and well-maintained.
  • Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping team members, providing coaching and guidance to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Manage finances and inventory for the housekeeping department, including budgeting and controlling expenses.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor all aspects of the department, working closely with the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Evaluate and report maintenance issues related to furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Delegate duties and projects, ensuring consistent follow-up and completion.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards.
  • Promptly resolve guest complaints or issues, recording and storing lost and found articles.
  • Report any unsafe work conditions to the Resort Manager or General Manager.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in housekeeping management or supervisory position.
  • Previous experience managing a team of 50+ housekeeping employees.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals/direction quickly, and multitask.
  • Working knowledge of room management systems.
  • Proven comfort and experience interacting with all levels of management, guests, associates, and homeowners.
  • Activator/self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Proficiency with general office PC applications.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail.
