Job Description

The Outbound Supervisor is primarily responsible for the effective allocation and waving of orders and transfers using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) WorkCenter. The position is responsible for 1, or more, direct reports who also oversee the WorkCenter and related email communications. The position is responsible for coordinating the timely shipping of orders by working with the rest of the Outbound team and Customer Service / International / Domestic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures timely allocation and waving of orders and transfers downloaded to Resolv WMS by ship date
  • Works with Pickers, Packers, Customer Service, and Inventory Department to ensure proper allocation and release of orders
  • Ensures orders and transfers flow through systematically Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / WMS / Distribution Center (DCD) / Etc.
  • Provides feedback and status updates regarding possible back order issues, order line changes and additions
  • Works with other internal departments (Testing, Repair, Calibration, etc.) to ensure shipments are complete and on time
  • Assists with paperwork, end-of-day communications, preparation for the next day, and other related duties
  • Assists with carrier pickups when necessary
  • Coordinates with Outbound Shipping Manager to handle emergency openings on designated weekends
  • Other operational / service-related duties as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct report(s): Outbound Operations Specialist - Other direct reports possible depending on operational needs

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree required or equivalent work experience (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Computer Skills Necessary:

  • Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook and Excel
  • ERP and WMS experience preferred (SAP B1 and RESOLV a plus but not required)
  • Dematic / DCD experience preferred (a plus but not required)

Physical Demands or Requirements:

  • Occasional physical work (picking/packing/inspection) in the warehouse.
  • Ability to stand / sit for prolonged periods of time
  • General Office duties

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse and office.
  • Hours are 10:00AM to finish with the ability to occasionally work on Saturdays
  • Weekend On-Call availability (scheduled)
