REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President of Operations

SUPERVISES: Area Assistants, Supervisors, Area Trainers, Account Managers, Area Cleaners, and General Cleaners

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for strategizing, organizing, and overseeing the cleaning operations within a designated district or branch, aligning the efforts of Area and Account Managers. This role ensures adherence to CleanPower standards, fosters team development, and monitors budgeted hours alongside appropriate staffing levels. Indirectly oversees all hourly staff within the assigned area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrates leadership by exemplifying CleanPower as a reputable janitorial service in the industry.
  • Fosters a collaborative team environment, leading to enhanced manager and employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborates with and inspires Area and Account Managers to meet their objectives, including documented visitations, safety reporting, quality assurance, employee training and retention, daily reports, and budget management.
  • Assists in the strategic planning and organization of new account launches.
  • Conducts account visitations to ensure CleanPower standards are consistently met and maintained.
  • Upholds all company policies and procedures.
  • Takes direct responsibility for the management of current accounts and their retention.
  • Communicates with the Senior Vice President regarding:
    • Quality Assurance Inspection outcomes and subsequent actions
    • Employee-related issues
    • Additional sales metrics
    • Customer visitation insights
    • Variations in budgeted daily hours
    • Staffing information for weekends
    • Ongoing contingency plans
    • General building updates
    • Safety concerns
  • Collaborates with the Chief Operating Officer and Business Development on pricing adjustments, contract negotiations, and service evaluations as necessary.
  • Maintains labor budgets and reporting through hands-on engagement with the TEAM system, demonstrating proficiency in its use.
  • Reviews and assesses staffing levels, providing relevant information to the Human Resources department.
  • Directs operations within the area to ensure compliance with contract specifications, analyzing results and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensures effective resolution of customer complaints and keeps the Vice President of Operations and President informed of these matters.
  • Aids in managing labor and wage expenses to meet budgeted profit targets.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Area/Account Managers to promote additional services as required.
  • Maintains open and effective communication across all levels.
  • Consistently prioritizes CleanPower standards, company policies, and best practices.
  • Provides coverage for Managers during absences due to vacation or illness, or in areas lacking an assigned Manager.
  • Establishes and nurtures customer relationships through regular visitations.
  • Conducts regular Quality Assurance Inspections of all facilities in the area (monthly or more frequently as needed) and develops action plans based on inspection results.
  • Utilizes available resources to train new employees with a focus on long-term retention.
  • Supports, guides, and trains Building Supervisors with an emphasis on account and employee retention.
  • Manages employee performance and conduct in accordance with the progressive discipline policy, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures while documenting as necessary in consultation with Human Resources.
  • Promotes a safe working environment at field accounts, processes employee accident reports, ensures injuries are addressed promptly, and assists in the Return to Work program as required.
  • Completes timely follow-ups on customer survey feedback, seeking to implement long-term solutions to identified issues.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to Human Resources regarding current and future staffing requirements.
  • Manages supply inventory at field accounts and adheres to online ordering procedures with external vendors. As necessary, delivers supplies, equipment, and laundry to all locations.
  • Conducts monthly Crew Communications Meetings at field account sites.
  • Performs cleaning duties when necessary due to staffing shortages.
  • Undertakes any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of 4 years of management experience in a multi-facility and services environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • A background in janitorial or related services
  • A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
