Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to oversee the manufacturing operations of our products. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our plant is continuously operational and produces its maximum output at its optimum efficiency in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, government regulatory statutes, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to all quality systems, including ISO 9001, ISOFSSC 22000, ISO 14000, DS cGMP, and Food Safety, with a thorough understanding of our Quality Policy and procedures.
  • Compliance: Comply with all Company policies, including Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMP's, HAACP, and Attendance.
  • Production Supervision: Supervise hourly employees in the production and/or packaging of all products to maintain volume requirements and in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Sanitation and Maintenance: Oversee sanitation activities in the area of management/supervisory responsibility and maintain and adjust the production process throughput to fulfill the production requirements throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and correct any deviations or changes in the process or raw materials to prevent deleterious situations from occurring and initiate immediate repair for the adjustment and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training hourly and salaried personnel and assign employees to work stations in a manner to maximize use of staffing to meet production goals.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain hourly personnel records and plant production records as required.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Perform testing of materials and product in process operations and maintain necessary batch and log records as they pertain to production.
  • Communication: Provide communication between hourly personnel and management and perform weekend and holiday duties on a rotational basis with other supervisors.
  • Special Assignments: Perform other assignments and duties as directed by supervisor, including but not limited to, scheduling and preparation of production records, equipment maintenance and repair, shipping clerk, process operator, or lab analysts jobs in situations of extreme hourly employee shortages.
Requirements
  • Education: College degree (or equivalent relevant industry experience) in Dairy, Food, or Biological Sciences with a strong background in Microbiology.
  • Experience: Two or more years formal leadership experience and two or more years in a manufacturing operation in order to conduct process operation with skill and efficiency.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Determinative Bacteriological methods to ascertain culture purity, identity, etc., detailed understanding of production equipment and its interrelationship in regard to product flow and production efficiency, ability to recognize and solve production problems, and good human relations skills as well as good communication skills.
  • Knowledge: Understanding the principles of Good Manufacturing Practices, applicable Food and Drug regulations, and Company standards.
