Position Overview:

The Quality Control Associate plays a vital role in the enhancement and management of the HITT quality control strategy. This position involves collaboration with both internal staff and external entities to ensure compliance with inspection and testing protocols. It is essential to educate all stakeholders on HITT's quality control methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the initial planning stages of the QC program by collaborating with the QCS Team, Project Manager, and Superintendent to establish quality expectations.
  • Create a comprehensive list of work features for each project, aligning them with the project timeline.
  • Formulate site-specific quality control programs for small to mid-sized projects and submit them for final approval.
  • Design templates for meetings and inspections corresponding to each work feature.
  • Implement the four phases of control (Planning, Preparatory, Initial, and Inspections) for each work feature, coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Assess incoming materials for compliance and ensure proper storage practices.
  • Supervise inspections conducted by HITT's Superintendents for each work feature and perform inspections as necessary.
  • Monitor deficiencies and rework items until resolution, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain and document all quality control records, including third-party inspection reports.
  • Provide weekly updates on progress, status, and upcoming inspections to the QC Program Manager.
  • Attend all progress meetings to report on quality control activities.
  • Promote safe work practices throughout the quality control program.
  • Develop the final punch list and oversee the project closeout process.
  • Communicate with clients and their representatives regarding project quality control activities and gather feedback.
  • Coordinate quality control support for startup and commissioning documentation with the MEP team.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and superintendent to ensure alignment on deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Active certification with the Army Corps of Engineers in Construction Quality Management for Contractors, or an inactive certification that can be renewed within three months of hire.
  • OSHA-10 certification.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in data center construction.
  • Self-motivated individual familiar with the quality control process, including the development of site-specific QC programs and the establishment of the four phases of control.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with the HITT Project Team and clients.
  • Knowledgeable in CSA and MEP disciplines.
  • Familiarity with building codes, NFPA-70E, and NEC standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong document control skills.
