Position Overview:

The Quality Control Associate plays a vital role in the development and management of HITT's quality assurance framework. This position involves collaboration with both internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with quality standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control Services (QCS) Team, Project Manager, and Superintendent during the planning phase to establish clear quality expectations.
  • Create a comprehensive list of features of work (FOW) for each project, aligning them with the project timeline.
  • Design site-specific quality control programs for small to mid-sized projects, submitting them for review to the Quality Control Senior Manager.
  • Develop templates for meetings and inspections tailored to each FOW.
  • Implement the four phases of control—Planning, Preparatory, Initial, and Inspections—working closely with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Review incoming materials for compliance with submissions and ensure proper storage practices.
  • Supervise inspections conducted by HITT's Superintendents for each FOW and perform inspections as necessary.
  • Monitor deficiencies and rework items, ensuring effective and timely corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain and organize all quality control documentation, including third-party inspection reports and test results.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Quality Control Program Manager, detailing progress and upcoming inspections.
  • Attend all project progress meetings, reporting on quality control activities.
  • Promote safe work practices throughout the quality control program.
  • Prepare the final punch list and manage the project closeout process.
  • Engage with clients and their representatives to communicate project quality control activities and gather feedback.
  • Coordinate quality control support for startup and commissioning documentation in collaboration with the MEP team.
  • Work alongside the project manager and superintendent to ensure alignment on deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Active certification with the Army Corps of Engineers in Construction Quality Management for Contractors, or an inactive certification that can be renewed within three months of employment.
  • OSHA-10 certification.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in data center construction.
  • A proactive self-starter with a solid understanding of the quality control process, including the development of site-specific quality control programs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with the HITT Project Team and clients.
  • Familiarity with CSA and MEP disciplines.
  • Knowledge of building codes, NFPA-70E, and the NEC.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong document control skills.
