Position Overview:

The Quality Control Associate plays a vital role in the development and execution of the HITT quality control strategy. This position involves collaboration with internal teams and external entities to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in the initial planning stages of the Quality Control program by collaborating with the Quality Control Services Team, Project Manager, and Superintendent to set clear expectations.
  • Create a comprehensive list of work features for each project and align them with the project timeline.
  • Formulate site-specific Quality Control Programs for various projects and submit them for review by the Quality Control Senior Manager.
  • Design templates for meetings and inspections tailored to each work feature.
  • Implement the four phases of control (Planning, Preparatory, Initial, and Inspections) in collaboration with subcontractors, vendors, and clients, ensuring all necessary meetings are conducted.
  • Assess incoming materials for compliance with submissions and ensure proper storage practices.
  • Supervise inspections conducted by HITT's Superintendents for each work feature and perform inspections as required.
  • Monitor deficiencies and rework items until resolved, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain and organize all Quality Control documentation, including third-party inspection reports and test results.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Quality Control Program Manager, detailing progress, status, and upcoming inspections.
  • Participate in all HITT progress meetings, offering insights on Quality Control activities.
  • Promote safe work practices throughout the Quality Control program.
  • Develop a final punch list and oversee the project closure process.
  • Communicate with clients and their representatives regarding the status of Quality Control activities and gather feedback on the program.
  • Coordinate Quality Control support for startup and commissioning documentation with the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team.
  • Collaborate with the project manager and superintendent to ensure alignment on deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Current certification with the Army Corps of Engineers in Construction Quality Management for Contractors, or an inactive certification that can be renewed within three months of employment.
  • OSHA-10 certification.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in data center construction.
  • A proactive self-starter with familiarity in the Quality Control process, including the development of site-specific Quality Control Programs and the establishment of control phases.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with the HITT Project Team and clients.
  • Sufficient knowledge in Construction Safety Assessment (CSA) and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) disciplines.
  • Understanding of building codes, NFPA-70E, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong document control skills.
