Adjunct Instructor

The Los Angeles Community College District is seeking a dynamic and motivated Adjunct Physics/Astronomy Instructor to join our team. As a part-time faculty member, you will have the opportunity to engage and educate our students in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Teach Physics and Astronomy courses to students at one of our nine colleges
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote student learning and success
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
- Master's degree in Physics, Astronomy, or Astrophysics
- OR Bachelor's degree in Physics or Astronomy and Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Meteorology, or Geophysics
- A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
- Competitive salary schedule starting at $86.85 per standard hour
- Office hour differential of $20.32 per hour for classroom assignments
- Eligibility for doctoral differential for applicants with a doctoral degree
