About the Position

The Los Angeles Community College District is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach a range of courses within the Studio Art discipline. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses within the Studio Art discipline, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and other related areas.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to promote student success.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Fine Arts, Art, or Art History, or a related field.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in any of the above fields and a Master's degree in Humanities.
  • OR equivalent experience and education.
  • Evidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a community college setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and implementation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
