Job Summary:

The adjunct instructor will be responsible for teaching vocational education courses in insurance fundamentals, promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities, and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach vocational education courses in insurance fundamentals
  • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive lesson plans
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the insurance industry
  • OR Associate's degree and six years of professional experience in the insurance industry
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of various lines of insurance and the operations of the insurance industry
  • Ability to explain the economics that drive the insurance industry
  • Experience teaching vocational education courses
