Application Support Specialist

Overview
As a key member of the OneBlood team, the Application Support Analyst will provide expert technical and functional support to management in the design, architecture, installation, configuration, performance, monitoring, and security of the Business and Quality Application systems. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to implement solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business processes and develop software functional requirements to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage and coordinate Business and Quality Application project timelines, tasks, and resources to ensure timely completion.
- Install and configure Business and Quality Application software and associated tools to ensure optimal system performance.
- Maintain and enforce Business and Quality Application software governance policies to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
- Ensure the integrity and security of Business and Quality Application system data in accordance with business needs and industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform and test routine Business and Quality Application system backups and restores to ensure data integrity.
- Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Business and Quality Application system issues and escalating incidents as necessary and tune for performance.
- Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles to ensure successful system implementation.
- Recommend and perform software upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations to ensure system stability and security.
- Develop Business and Quality Application system training and documentation to ensure user understanding and adoption.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university. Four (4) or more years of technical experience; project leadership, software implementations, and support; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, and Designations:
- PMI Project Management; CAPM or PMP preferred
- IIBA Business Analyst; CBAP preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures required to maintain and integrate database, web, and core business application systems.
- Ability to develop and document Business and Quality Application architecture, administration standards, along with other supporting documentation as needed.
- Ability to develop Business and Quality Application system end-user documentation on processes, standards, and best practices.
- Internet and Intranet application platforms.
- A basic understanding of network issues and their relation to application and database functions.
- Utility software support tools such as editors, forms design, and database query languages.
- Ability to organize work for timely completion.
- Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English.
- Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Skill in Microsoft Office applications.
- Skill in operating office equipment.
- Ability to commute with personal transportation.
Physical Requirements:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds).
