Job Overview

HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Vision Care Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in standing and walking for the majority of the workday.
  • Assist clients in selecting appropriate eyewear, which includes taking precise measurements, fitting, and adjusting glasses, addressing vision-related concerns, and educating customers on the proper use and maintenance of their eyeglasses and contact lenses.
  • Retrieve patient prescriptions from ophthalmologists or optometrists.
  • Collect essential patient information, including vision and medical insurance details.
  • Manage scheduling, confirmations, and maintenance of appointments.
  • Recommend suitable frames, lenses, and products based on the patient's style and specifications.
  • Adjust and fit frames in accordance with prescriptions and individual patient needs.
  • Prepare and submit orders to the designated laboratory for production.
  • Utilize equipment such as lensometers, auto refractors, pupilometers, calipers, and hand tools effectively.
  • Assist with inventory management for frames, contact lenses, marketing materials, and office supplies.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and care of both contact lenses and eyeglasses.
  • Repair or replace damaged frames as necessary.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including filing, following up on orders, patient communication, answering phones, and assisting the doctor with special requests and referrals.
Qualifications:Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical front desk environment.
  • Experience in handling phone communications, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, and patient interactions.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to complex insurance lookup systems.
  • Empathetic demeanor with strong customer service skills, particularly when interacting with elderly patients.
Preferred:
  • Experience in the vision care field.

Compensation:
