Key Responsibilities:- Engage in standing and walking for the majority of the workday.
- Assist clients in selecting appropriate eyewear, which includes taking precise measurements, fitting, and adjusting glasses, addressing vision-related concerns, and educating customers on the proper use and maintenance of their eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Retrieve patient prescriptions from ophthalmologists or optometrists.
- Collect essential patient information, including vision and medical insurance details.
- Manage scheduling, confirmations, and maintenance of appointments.
- Recommend suitable frames, lenses, and products based on the patient's style and specifications.
- Adjust and fit frames in accordance with prescriptions and individual patient needs.
- Prepare and submit orders to the designated laboratory for production.
- Utilize equipment such as lensometers, auto refractors, pupilometers, calipers, and hand tools effectively.
- Assist with inventory management for frames, contact lenses, marketing materials, and office supplies.
- Educate patients on the proper use and care of both contact lenses and eyeglasses.
- Repair or replace damaged frames as necessary.
- Perform administrative tasks, including filing, following up on orders, patient communication, answering phones, and assisting the doctor with special requests and referrals.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical front desk environment.
- Experience in handling phone communications, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, and patient interactions.
- Ability to learn and adapt to complex insurance lookup systems.
- Empathetic demeanor with strong customer service skills, particularly when interacting with elderly patients.
- Experience in the vision care field.

Hourly pay rate of $18.25.
