Lead Systems Engineer

We are in search of a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to a significant USAF initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system and sub-system design documentation to guide software engineers in enhancing existing or creating new integrated software functionalities for advanced avionics and weapon systems.
- Collaborate on Operational Flight Program (OFP) software enhancements by engaging with cross-functional teams including engineers, equipment specialists, and program managers.
- Address configuration challenges by gathering relevant data, identifying conflicts with other subsystems, and facilitating integration and modification planning.
- Design modifications for interfaces and onboard software; conduct thorough analysis of electrical and software interfaces; ensure validation of designs on aircraft.
- Conduct engineering studies, compile data, liaise with engineering teams, and assist in the finalization of documentation.
- Manage changes through the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process, perform risk assessments, support the Change Control Board (CCB), and review data for discrepancies.
- Engage in special research initiatives.
- Assist in the execution of Technical Orders (TOs) and technical documentation.
- Conduct laboratory qualification testing.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Work Schedule:
- Facilities typically operate from early morning to evening, allowing flexibility in setting work hours with leadership.
- Flexible time arrangements are available during the pay cycle, minimizing the need for paid time off for appointments.
- Options for a standard five-day workweek or a 5/4/9 schedule are available.

Qualifications:
- Must hold a Secret clearance or possess the ability to obtain one.
- A Master's degree in a relevant engineering field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills, with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Independent thinker capable of delivering high-quality work both autonomously and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in creating and maintaining system and sub-system design documentation.
- Professional background in software development, including familiarity with various operating systems and programming languages.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553B Bus Monitor functions and A-10 avionics.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
