On behalf of our client, North Wind Services (NWS) is seeking skilled professionals to fill the role of an Industrial Engineer.

NWS has a solid track record of contributing to the success of their clients' missions.

The successful candidate will be employed by NWS, a leading government contractor dedicated to employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel.

Daily guidance will be provided by the client to ensure that work performance aligns with all business, technical, legal, safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.

Our client is in search of a seasoned Mechanical Engineer who will develop designs for mechanical systems related to DOD and USAF initiatives.

The ideal candidate must possess strong organizational and collaborative skills, demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, a proactive attitude, and a passion for innovative design.

The successful candidate will support the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program during the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.

This individual will assist in the design development of mechanical systems and equipment for the GBSD program by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with relevant procedures, codes, standards, and contractual obligations.

The candidate will collaborate with mechanical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, develop, and review design documentation and drawings.
  • Conduct formal calculations.
  • Size equipment and systems appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain specifications for equipment and materials.
  • Create procurement documentation.
  • Generate design configuration packages for configuration control and change management.
  • Implement Building Information Modeling and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Review vendor submissions and integrate information into the design solution.
  • Adhere to schedule requirements while ensuring a high standard of quality in deliverables.
  • Work closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related) from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • US citizenship is mandatory.
  • Relevant experience encompasses, but is not limited to, drawings, calculations, and specifications for mechanical systems and equipment in nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building mechanical systems.
  • Possess an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in utilizing engineering and office automation tools effectively.
  • Experience in developing equipment configuration packages for procurement and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with industry and regulatory guidelines, codes, and standards, as well as corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the USA (Mechanical or related Engineering).
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Experience in drawing development for fluid systems, hydraulics, heat transfer, HVAC, and thermodynamic calculations, along with equipment specifications.
  • Prior experience working with quality assurance programs such as ISO and with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
  • Experience executing engineering and design using Revit.
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Master format specifications or Specs Intact.
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.

Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
