Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure systems are designed, constructed, and deployed with resilience to support operations in a cyber-contested environment. Your assessments will play a crucial role in the system's certification process, which is vital for the program's success. Your primary responsibilities will include evaluating system architectures, analyzing firmware, creating testing environments, and designing, developing, and implementing vulnerability mitigations.

You will:
  • Collaborate closely with customer Engineering and Program Management teams as well as other UARC/FFRDC teams
  • Engage in weapon system requirements analysis, threat assessments, vulnerability assessments, secure architecture development, testing, and integration of cybersecurity-related systems, tools, and applications
  • Develop repeatable testing procedures to ensure weapon system compliance with critical requirements
  • Provide technical guidance on application security design and implementation
  • Create custom software components, tools, and testing capabilities
  • May offer expertise on security operations for weapon systems

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, cybersecurity, or computer science from an accredited institution, or an ABET accredited IT degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity or engineering (electronics, embedded software, or software design)
  • Proven knowledge of current cybersecurity threats, cyber defense tools, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs)
  • Leadership experience with customer interactions and directing cyber engineers
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition or R&D test engineering
  • Experience with secure system design
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Familiarity with secure software development processes
  • Knowledge of cyber risk management
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities
  • Capability to establish and maintain productive relationships with customers
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a DoD security clearance
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to various facilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in cyber, testing, or aerospace systems engineering
  • Advanced degree in engineering with a focus on cybersecurity
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Knowledge of enterprise cloud cybersecurity
  • Experience in embedded system requirements analysis
  • Familiarity with DoD program office operations
  • Experience in red teaming or penetration testing
  • Hands-on experience in cyber operations
  • Possession of an active CISSP certification
  • Current DoD clearance
