Restaurant Operations Manager

Emmy Squared Pizza is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead our new location in Charlottesville, VA. As a Restaurant General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including staff management, customer satisfaction, food quality, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of restaurant employees, ensuring policies and processes are followed.
- Hiring, onboarding, and training of employees.
- Partner with culinary leadership to ensure front and back of house teams work cohesively.
- Oversee floor operations during service, delegating tasks as needed.
- Ensure guest satisfaction, interacting with guests and resolving issues.
- Manage cash handling, including petty cash and weekly deposits.
- Ensure all guests receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to presentation standards and recipes.
- Proactively reach company goals in sales, service, and appearance.
- Labor management, creating and adjusting schedules as needed.
- Participate in marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness and drive sales.
- Continuously evaluate and implement strategies to improve customer experience and drive business growth.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining superior cleanliness and sanitation.
- Identify potential safety hazards and initiate corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
- Facilitate meetings and training sessions on various topics.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year General Manager experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Experience with POS, scheduling, and reservation systems (Toast and/or Dolce experience a plus).
- Proven leadership skills, with ability to manage, develop, and motivate a highly performing staff.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make informed decisions based on data analysis and financial metrics.
- Understanding of food service operations, including menu planning and kitchen management.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Passion for food, hospitality, and providing an exceptional dining experience.
- Proficient with computers and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Serve Safe certified food manager preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift/carry items up to 40 lbs. and push/pull items up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead.
