Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Fresh Mark, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality control testing, monitoring manufacturing and processing activities, and ensuring compliance with internal and external customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct physical, analytical, and microbial testing, as well as sensory evaluation, to ensure product quality and safety.
- Perform process checks throughout production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions to identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with the sanitation department to execute the environmental testing program and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate test results and observations to FSQA management, production, and sanitation personnel.
- Assist line technicians as needed and participate in the Sample Retain Program.
- Prepare production line FSQA stations and calibrate equipment as required.
- Generate departmental reports and consolidate FSQA audit reports.
- Provide independent oversight of processes to ensure compliance with company standards and policies.
- Assist in training employees on food safety, company processes, and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of FSQA activities and USDA pre-shipment records.
- Two-year degree or certificate in food science or related subject preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- One or more years of previous Quality Assurance or related experience in the food processing facility preferred.
- Knowledge of FDA GMPs and understanding of HACCP principles.
- Familiarity with modern food manufacturing processes and food safety systems.
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with fluent reading and writing skills in English.
- Starting rate of $17.50/hour.
