Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

At Schuler Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to oversee the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for our organization's products and/or development processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire and train quality assurance staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Oversee the daily workflow and schedules of the department to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, providing feedback and coaching to help employees improve their performance.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy, ensuring that all actions are fair and consistent.
  • Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for products, communicating these to the QA team, product development team, and other relevant staff.
  • Coordinate product testing processes, ensuring that all necessary testing is completed and that results are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Participate in product testing, providing input and feedback to ensure that products meet quality standards.
  • Identify and analyze issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommend and facilitate solutions to these issues.
  • Review client, customer, and user feedback, using this information to improve products and services.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies, ensuring that all quality-related activities are conducted in accordance with these requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a field related to the products being developed is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a related field is required, with supervisory experience a plus.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills are essential, as well as a strong working knowledge of quality systems, processes, and problem-solving tools such as APQP, SPC, 8D, Six Sigma, process development, and improvement plans.
  • Ability to read and understand product specifications and blueprints is necessary, as well as the ability to use inspection gages such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
  • Able to analyze data and present and create reports, as well as support the organization's Quality Management systems in line with standards.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required, as well as high organizational and time-conscious skills.
  • Possess strong analytical aptitude, self-motivation, and results-oriented skills, as well as proficiency in computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Customer-focused, with strong time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and adapt to change.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with ability to use judgment and make decisions independently, as well as teamwork-oriented to resolve problems and achieve goals.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills are essential, as well as fluency in English with advanced reading and writing skills.
  • German and/or Portuguese language skills would be a plus, and visa holders/English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take the TOEFL exam and score above the passing grade.
