General Purpose of the Role
Nazareth is in search of a dedicated educator to design, organize, and implement an effective instructional program that encourages students to realize their academic potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficient in the Spanish language
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with high school students
  • Develop and deliver engaging instructional activities that promote active learning
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all educational activities
  • Provide challenging instructional lessons
  • Identify and utilize diverse instructional resources and methods to accommodate students' varying needs
  • Incorporate relevant technology to enhance instruction
  • Monitor and assess student performance and growth
  • Assign and evaluate classwork, homework, tests, and projects
  • Offer constructive feedback on student work
  • Encourage and track individual student progress
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and development
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary record-keeping as mandated by law and school policy
  • Manage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
  • Uphold discipline in accordance with school regulations
  • Engage in pastoral duties, including providing academic support and encouragement to students
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, including social events, sports, clubs, and student organizations
  • Attend department and school meetings, as well as parent meetings
  • Communicate essential information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs
  • Stay informed about developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methodologies, making relevant adjustments to instructional plans and activities

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Fulfill professional teacher education requirements of the school, district, and state
  • Possess a single subject teaching credential or certification in a specialized subject
  • Preferred experience in high school teaching
  • Familiarity with relevant technology (e.g., Microsoft, Smartboard, JTouch, PlusPortal Gradebook)
