RiseBoro Community Partnership is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESOL Educator to join our team. As an ESOL Educator, you will be responsible for providing instruction to students enrolled in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Provide high-quality instruction to students in ESOL classes, using a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage students and promote language learning.
- Lesson Planning: Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that incorporate the use of computer-based activities and align with the program's curriculum goals.
- Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Administer regular assessments to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Student Support: Provide individualized support to students, including referrals to internal support services as needed.
- Professional Development: Participate in a minimum of 14 hours of training and professional development activities per year, including workshops and online training sessions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as education, linguistics, or a related field.
- Experience: Two years of teaching experience, preferably in an ESOL setting.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- Other Requirements: Ability to create an engaging and welcoming learning environment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias.
