Job Summary

Stamford Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team as a Surgical Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient care, scheduling surgeries, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care and scheduling for surgical procedures
  • Pre-certify patients for surgery and obtain necessary authorizations
  • Communicate with OR scheduling staff, patients, and providers to ensure seamless coordination
  • Provide education to patients and families on pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Assist with specimen collection and testing as needed
  • Document patient information and vital signs accurately
  • Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Valid license as Licensed Practical Nurse in CT
  • BLS Certification
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position preferred
