Stamford Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team as a Surgical Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating patient care, scheduling surgeries, and providing exceptional customer service to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient care and scheduling for surgical procedures
- Pre-certify patients for surgery and obtain necessary authorizations
- Communicate with OR scheduling staff, patients, and providers to ensure seamless coordination
- Provide education to patients and families on pre-operative and post-operative care
- Assist with specimen collection and testing as needed
- Document patient information and vital signs accurately
- Respond to patient inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid license as Licensed Practical Nurse in CT
- BLS Certification
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a similar position preferred
