As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for performing essential cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout Ingraham Manor and its surrounding facilities. Your role will directly contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitation Duties:
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect designated areas, including offices, patient rooms, and common spaces.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and furnishings, ensuring adherence to strict sanitation protocols.
- Perform detailed cleaning tasks in resident rooms, including mopping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Assist with laundry tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Follow established procedures for cleaning isolation areas and treatment rooms.
- Regularly empty and sanitize waste receptacles in all assigned areas.
- Collect and dispose of trash in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in a clean and functional state.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Handle cleaning chemicals responsibly, following all safety guidelines.
- Assist with the movement of materials and equipment as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with resident safety policies during all activities.
- Document completed tasks as required.
- Exhibit consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Follow both verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Foster a collaborative environment by promoting teamwork and support among colleagues.
- Demonstrate accountability for personal actions and responsibilities.
- Encourage cooperation across departments to enhance overall service delivery.
Educational Background:
Some high school education is preferred. Previous experience in institutional cleaning or a related field is beneficial.
Licensure Requirements:
No specific certifications required.
Training Requirements:
Completion of general orientation and annual safety training upon hire.
Communication Skills:
Effective communication skills are essential for interaction with residents, staff, and visitors.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring physical mobility, including walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Typical healthcare setting with exposure to various cleaning agents and resident-related materials.
Cognitive Skills:
Ability to read and understand cleaning product labels and follow written and verbal instructions.
