Job Responsibilities

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide essential nursing services to residents, which include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting thorough assessments and monitoring the physical and emotional well-being of residents.
  • Administering medications in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards.
  • Delivering direct nursing care and assisting with medical procedures as required.
  • Reviewing and updating care plans to ensure optimal resident care.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives relevant to nursing practices.
  • Documenting care activities and communicating significant changes in resident conditions to appropriate personnel.

Supervisory Duties

In this role, you will also oversee the nursing assistants within your assigned unit, which includes:
  • Providing guidance and support to nursing staff.
  • Conducting performance evaluations and recommending personnel actions.
  • Ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to perform all aspects of nursing care, including lifting and physical activity.
