PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Oversee the physical installation of communication systems across all designated projects. Collaborate with the project team to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards by following industry regulations and best practices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviewing Project Information: Collaborate with key personnel to clarify questions and uncertainties as needed.
  • Planning Projects: Assess potential challenges, impacts, and solutions. Coordinate resources, site access, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and necessary equipment with the Project Manager.
  • Customer Project Review: Discuss system functionality, timelines, and plans with the customer. Conduct site walk-throughs to confirm locations and identify safety concerns.
  • Project Kick-Off: Ensure comprehension of the project plan and review all milestones. Conduct site inspections to verify locations and identify safety issues when feasible.
  • Executing the Project Plan:
    • Lead daily work according to the project plan, including safety practices and requirements.
    • Conduct regular site evaluations, safety inspections, and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with the project plan.
    • Communicate any changes in the scope of work to the assigned Project Lead/Project Manager and adjust the project plan as necessary.
    • Inspect project installations to meet quality standards, rectify discrepancies, mentor team members, and report recurring issues when needed.
    • Create a project punch list, perform system testing, coordinate customer training, and ensure completion of documentation.
    • Assist with basic programming, configuration, and connecting physical systems to the network as assigned.
    • Support the on-site training and mentoring of less experienced team members.
  • Project Closure: Conduct customer walk-throughs when possible. Submit documentation, secure customer sign-off, and confirm project fulfillment for all assigned projects.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Provide feedback to the Project Manager on project management processes, tools, and best practice enhancements. Offer recommendations to Sales and Engineering regarding improvement areas and project successes.
  • Service Support: Responsible for assisting with service ticket completion as assigned and supporting the company's 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

  • The Systems Specialist supervises the project team during assigned projects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of technology experience within a similar organization.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience in a comparable role.
  • 3 safety-related certifications (preferred).
  • 2 industry certifications (e.g., NICET, Bicsi, CTS, etc.) (preferred).
  • Industry certifications and training may be obtained within the first year of employment to meet minimum qualifications as applicable.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication skills and general construction or mechanical knowledge are essential.
  • Familiarity with communication systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
  • Proficiency in PC usage (Windows environment) and working knowledge of Excel is preferred.

  • Ability to solve problems creatively and exercise sound judgment based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communication skills in English are required.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing, sitting, and using hands and fingers.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Reaching, grasping, and carrying activities are also necessary.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Moderate noise levels are typical in the work environment.
  • Most work is performed indoors, with occasional outdoor activities subject to seasonal temperature variations.
