We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team at Ahtna Technical Services, Inc. in Alaska. As a Laborer, you will perform various tasks involving physical labor, movement of materials, and operation of hand/power tools.
Key Responsibilities- Locate and move materials, equipment, and parts between work areas to expedite processing of goods.
- Operate hand/power tools and equipment, including manual labor and confined space work.
- Assist other craft workers and provide support for project activities and site locations.
- Work in remote areas, including travel to sites up to 12 hours per day.
- Identify hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in Ahtna medical surveillance program and complete pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of construction machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to pass HAZWOPER physical and respirator fit test.
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course and 8-Hour HAZWOPER refresher within the last 12 months
- Current Alaska Department of Labor Certificate of Fitness for Asbestos Abatement
- Lead Awareness course completion
- Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures
- May be indoors or outdoors, subject to confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels.
- Frequent lifting, sitting, standing, stooping for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity.
- Reaching with hands and arms for items above and below sight level, talking, hearing, and seeing.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, including small electrical components, equipment, and other materials.
