Human Resources Learning and Development Specialist

The Human Resources Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for creating and facilitating learning and development programs aimed at improving employee productivity. This position collaborates with the Shareholder Career Path and Shareholder Enrichment teams to provide shareholder training and development opportunities. Additionally, the specialist assists with facilitating employee performance and engagement programs, as well as HR continuous process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with employees and management to identify learning and development opportunities and assign available training content.
- Collaborate with Shareholder Career Path and Shareholder Enrichment to provide training content and learning opportunities that align with shareholder education, development, and career advancement.
- Author e-learning training content as directed, assessing whether off-the-shelf training and/or Ahtna custom content are needed to meet training requirements.
- Design, implement, and evaluate learning and development programs, facilitating needs assessments for employee learning and development programs to enhance employee performance in achieving company goals and objectives.
- Partner with organizational stakeholders to identify and create learning and development opportunities to strengthen Ahtna's bench, including supporting Ahtna's ability to fill positions with shareholders and internal candidates.
- Assess the effectiveness of training in terms of participant reaction and learning.
- Facilitate employee engagement and satisfaction surveys, supporting and administering employee engagement, recognition, and productivity programs as directed.
- Administer performance appraisal programs, preparing reports, validating report accuracy, and ensuring reports are sent per identified program schedule and distributed to identified leaders, administrators, or other users.
- Refine knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends, specifically in employee learning and professional development.
- Associate's degree in human resources, organizational development, education, business administration, or a related field (experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis).
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in human resources, organizational development, program management, or database administration.
- Experience working in human resources, organizational development, or adult learning programs.
- HR or learning professional certification.
- Understanding of or certification in Kirkpatrick Four Levels or other learning evaluation models.
- Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures.
