A diagnostic medical sonographer, also known as a sonographer, uses imaging equipment and soundwaves to form images of various body parts, known as ultrasounds.

They are trained to acquire and analyze these sonographic images, which are used to help doctors diagnose and treat various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality ultrasound images
  • Analyze images to identify potential health issues
  • Collaborate with doctors to develop treatment plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
  • Current ARDMS certification in specialty area

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
