Job Summary:

Veracity is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and cardiac ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and interpretation by Radiologists and Cardiologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all ultrasound techniques and examinations.
  • Positions and transfers patients.
  • Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Selects and operates equipment as directed.
  • Lifts, moves and transports patients.
  • Maintains written information as required on patients.
  • Maintains working inventory of supplies.
  • Performs general office duties.
  • Covers after-hours calls.
  • Observes patient and equipment and reports unusual occurrences.
  • Prepares patient for procedure; explains procedure, assists patient during and after exam.
  • Cleans and disinfects room and equipment.
  • Performs quality control and quality assurance as required.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or be registered and certified by the ARRT in another modality (i.e., radiography, MRI, nuclear medicine, etc.) and documented training on the provision of sonography examinations, or completion of the SPI exam in lieu of documented training.

Performance Expectations:

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer will perform neo-natal, infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patient care. Current BLS certification is required on the first day of employment or to be assigned by the Learning Center.
