If you are passionate about contributing to the transition towards a low-carbon future, we invite you to consider the position of Lead Cost Estimator - Energy Engineering, reporting directly to the Study Manager within our consulting division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate AACE Class V/IV/III CAPEX and OPEX estimates tailored for the energy and chemicals sectors.
  • Assume a leadership role in estimating costs, quantities, and project scope during the early phases of project and technology development on a global scale.
  • Oversee the development of estimating scope, ensuring comprehensive capture of variances among competing concepts, while validating and benchmarking estimates.
  • Formulate the estimating scope, including bulk material quantities, infrastructure requirements, modularization levels, site logistics, commissioning, and indirect costs.
  • Collaborate with project team members across various design disciplines, including project management and third-party consultants.
  • Draft estimate plans, review project scopes, compile estimate data, and prepare estimate basis documents with necessary qualifications and assumptions.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of a benchmarking database for new project types.
  • Engage in estimate reviews and presentations with management, clients, and project teams.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and specialized knowledge within the domain.
  • Develop and refine estimating methodologies and tools pertinent to the business segment.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the estimating database.
  • Facilitate communication between the Houston office and global cost estimation teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in estimating processes within the refining, oil & gas, and petrochemical industries.
  • Strong understanding of estimating principles, project management, and reporting practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of PreFEED/FEED/EPC estimating methodologies.
  • Familiarity with development engineering, project management, and construction management concepts.
  • Expertise in generating conceptual estimates for material quantities, manhours, and OPEX/CAPEX across various global locations.
  • Awareness of construction and installation methods to derive detailed procurement and construction costs.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, with a preference for experience in Visual Basic for Excel macro programming.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aspen Capital Cost Estimator is essential.
