Job Overview

Role Summary

The Estimating Engineer is responsible for creating comprehensive cost estimates for various capital projects across industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. This role encompasses all financial aspects related to engineering, materials, and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops detailed multi-discipline cost estimates for capital projects, focusing on three out of four major areas: civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
  • Offers expert guidance in resolving estimating challenges within at least one of the principal disciplines.
  • Collaborates with senior estimators, project management, and procurement teams to analyze bids and negotiate contracts.
  • Directs quantity surveyors in breaking down estimates for clarity and accuracy.
  • Employs both manual and computer-based estimating tools to ensure precision in cost calculations.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and advancements in cost estimation through continuous learning and professional engagement.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in estimating, with at least one year focused on projects in petrochemical, refinery, pipeline, or power generation sectors.
  • Proficient understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and equipment.
  • Fluent communication skills in both written and spoken English.

Note: This position is temporary and is expected to last approximately one year.
