Position Title: Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
About ProCare Therapy:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to make a meaningful difference in the educational journey of our students with hearing challenges.

Role Summary:

The Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will provide specialized instruction and support designed for students with hearing difficulties. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing tailored educational plans, employing various communication techniques, and collaborating effectively with families and fellow educators to enhance student success.

Key Duties:
  • Develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
  • Deliver focused instruction and support across academic subjects and social-emotional growth.
  • Utilize a variety of communication approaches, including American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, and assistive technologies.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other professionals to address student needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, modifying teaching strategies as needed.
  • Support families with strategies to enhance learning and communication at home.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to remain informed about best practices and educational innovations.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other relevant communication methods.
  • Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with assistive listening devices and related technologies.
  • Experience in the creation and execution of IEPs.
  • Knowledge of educational software and technological tools.
