Leidos' Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) division is in search of a Systems Test Engineer to enhance our innovative engineering team dedicated to developing advanced solutions that enhance safety and efficiency in global travel and trade. As a vital member of the Leidos SES team, you will collaborate with a diverse group committed to delivering top-tier screening technologies. Our team is responsible for a comprehensive array of fully automated and integrated systems for aviation, shipping ports, border security, and critical infrastructure clients. These systems are designed to detect threats by screening baggage, cargo, and individuals at checkpoints worldwide.

The Systems Test Engineer will engage closely with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Training, Field Service, and clients throughout the product development lifecycle to validate and maintain Leidos security detection solutions in accordance with specified requirements at both the factory and post-installation phases. Candidates should possess experience with integrated systems, testing both software and hardware, and ideally be proficient in both Windows and Linux environments. Formal test reporting and documentation generation are essential components of this role. Responsibilities may evolve over time without prior notice and include, but are not limited to, the following:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a variety of tests and frameworks (integration, performance, regression, etc.) to ensure system software meets or surpasses product specifications.
  • Conduct software testing in a systems environment as part of the product qualification process to meet customer expectations for deployment and field installation.
  • Create, execute, and document relevant test plans and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with development team members to identify and resolve defects early in the development cycle.
  • Prepare documentation packages and adhere to required configuration management processes to officially release software to manufacturing.
  • Proactively facilitate group design discussions focused on software/system quality and communicate project status and issues to management and clients as necessary.
  • Support Field Service Engineering in assessing and troubleshooting installation issues to assist clients in problem resolution.
  • Utilize effective written and verbal communication skills to engage with all stakeholders involved in the product line.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting software/hardware within integrated systems.
  • Proficient in working with Windows-based operating systems and applications.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with developing test cases to validate defined system requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Some lifting may be required (typically less than 20 pounds).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with networks, distributed software environments, or cloud-based architectures.
  • Knowledge of the product development process and configuration management applications.
  • Experience in programming and/or electronics.
  • Basic Linux skills.
  • Technical writing experience.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
