IT Asset Management Specialist

Ampcus is seeking a highly skilled IT Asset Management Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring our organization remains compliant with vendors' licensing agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Compliance: Track software licenses and maintenance agreements to ensure compliance with vendors' licensing agreements.
  • Hardware Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware devices within the organization to feed applications that depend on inventory.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Software Asset Management: Maintain an accurate list of software assets with critical information such as period of performance, start date, end date, number of licenses, software owner, and other applicable fields.
  • Inventory Reporting: Regularly review software inventory reports to ensure sufficient licenses to remain compliant.
  • Vendor Management: Meet with vendors to obtain quotes for software and maintenance purchases.
  • Procurement Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement team to understand lead time for procuring software.
  • Financial Documentation: Regularly meet with the accounting team to ensure software and maintenance are documented in the financial system.
  • Savings Opportunities: Analyze and identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and maintenance agreements.
  • License Management: Assign and revoke software licenses by using vendor software licensing portals.
  • Annual Budgeting: Develop an annual software licensing budget for the whole organization.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Generate reports as needed for software and maintenance agreements.
  • Hardware Inventory Control: Act as the centralized point of inventory control for hardware assets using ServiceNow.
  • CMDB Integration: Work with the IT Operations team and Software Development to ensure hardware assets are discovered and classified in the configuration management database (CMDB).
  • Hardware Reporting: Generate reports for hardware assets to provide to the Security Compliance team and other groups as needed.
  • Hardware Attribute Management: Update and reconcile hardware attributes such as environment, function, status, and business owners for all servers and network devices.
  • Quarterly Recertification: Develop a quarterly recertification process to ensure all hardware assets are still in use and information is current.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or relevant technical training and certifications.
  • Experience: Three to Four years of directly related experience.
  • Vendor Negotiation: Three to Four years of negotiating with vendors regarding software/hardware agreements.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficient in software licensing and hardware terminology.
  • Network Discovery Tools: Experience using a network discovery tool such as ServiceNow, BMC Client Manager, or Microsoft SCCM.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • IT Asset Management Certification: Certification in IT Asset Management, such as IAITAM Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) or IAITAM Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP).
