ROLE OVERVIEW


The Chief Sales Officer will spearhead revenue generation through strategic planning and execution of sales and marketing initiatives, guiding the Account Executive Sales team to ensure consistent business from our existing clientele.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong drive for success and a passion for achieving results.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the national sales team, providing direction, coaching, and training to help them achieve their revenue objectives.

Oversee the recruitment, retention, performance, and development of all Account Executives.


Formulate and execute a sales and marketing strategy to meet the company's sales targets and profitability aligned with the overall strategic vision.

Direct sales forecasting activities and establish performance benchmarks accordingly.


Foster a sales-oriented culture within Pohlman and mentor Account Executives on effective sales techniques to enhance the quality and frequency of interactions with current clients.


Conduct regular training and development sessions for Account Executives to provide insights and accelerate sales performance, utilizing technologies that support sales efforts (e.g., Salesforce, RB, MyCaseTRAKS).


Assist in crafting prospecting plans for Account Executives to effectively identify sales leads and support them in their proposals and RFP responses.


Accompany Account Executives on client visits and presentations to ensure they receive the necessary training and development to excel.

Manage and enhance relationships with national partners (e.g., MDL, firms, insurers, corporate accounts).

Develop and oversee sales and marketing budgets, guiding Account Executives in managing their territory expenses.

Evaluate market research and adjust marketing strategies to adapt to evolving market and competitive landscapes.

Prepare and present sales activity reports to executive management, including the Board of Managers.

Ensure appropriate representation of the company at relevant conferences, trade association meetings, and networking events to promote our services.

Engage with key clients to maintain relationships and negotiate and finalize deals.

Analyze sales performance against established programs, quotes, and plans to assess effectiveness.


Gather feedback regarding services and pricing from Account Executives, clients, and industry participants, actively participating in discussions on pricing and service offerings.

Initiate and coordinate the development of strategies and action plans to expand current markets and penetrate new markets nationwide.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record of building and leading sales teams through effective recruitment, motivation, coaching, and mentorship.

Additionally, the candidate will possess:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

Experience in sales, including prospecting, qualifying, and closing

5+ years of Sales Management experience

Background in legal sales or experience in a litigation services firm, law firm, or related business preferred

Strong familiarity with legal technology is a plus

Active listening skills with a strong focus on client needs

Collaborative approach with management to achieve excellence in client service

Proficient problem-solving skills

Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, oral, and presentation)

Self-motivated and goal-oriented; a strong desire to succeed

Attention to detail, organized, and dedicated sales professional

Able to work independently with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding goals
