Key Responsibilities:OVERVIEW
The primary focus of this role is on teaching excellence. As an instructional faculty member, you will engage in teaching, scholarship, and service. Responsibilities may vary based on specific courses and semester needs. Faculty members are expected to deliver classes in accordance with approved syllabi and maintain regular office hours for student engagement and departmental duties. These hours will include standard working hours and may extend to evenings when classes are scheduled. Faculty participation in various events and meetings outside of regular hours is also expected.CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLEA. Instruction:1. Prepare and deliver classroom instruction in various formats, including in-person, online, and hybrid as directed by the College Administration.2. Conduct off-campus instruction as required.3. Design and oversee laboratory sessions related to assigned courses.4. Assess student performance through:
i. Timely preparation, administration, and grading of assignments and exams;
ii. Reporting grades by established deadlines;
iii. Evaluating student learning outcomes at both course and program levels.5. Provide academic support and advisement to students regarding course selection and registration.6. Supervise student activities pertinent to the academic program.7. Innovate teaching methods and engage in pedagogical research to enhance learning environments.8. Select and procure educational materials in a timely manner.9. Review library resources and recommend acquisitions.10. Develop new courses and programs, including online offerings.11. Actively contribute to curriculum development and assessment processes.ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS FOR ADJUNCT FACULTYA. Professional Growth:1. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance expertise in your field.2. Participate in required professional development activities.3. Faculty members involved in student organizations are designated as Campus Security Authorities and must comply with reporting requirements.
Education: A master's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. CPA certification is also acceptable. Alternatively, a master's degree in any discipline with 18 graduate hours in Accounting is acceptable.
Experience: Previous college teaching experience is preferred. Relevant professional experience may be required for technical programs.
Security Considerations: This position is security-sensitive and subject to relevant educational regulations.
$800 per credit hour
