Position Overview: The Materials Manager plays a pivotal role in orchestrating, organizing, and supervising all processes related to production scheduling and material requirements. This includes the procurement of materials and external services, utilizing MRP systems to prioritize production and ensure a robust supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate current and projected demand within the MRP framework, encompassing production capacity and material needs.
  • Oversee site-level SIOP processes and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations to assess workload and determine capacity requirements for labor and machinery.
  • Identify potential capacity and material challenges and proactively implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate production schedules effectively to operations teams.
  • Maintain MRP parameters to optimize lot sizing, purchasing, forecasting, and safety stock levels.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams on changes and new project launches to ensure seamless transitions in material and production flows.
  • Manage purchasing needs for materials and external services.
  • Negotiate pricing for raw materials and delivery terms with suppliers and vendors.
  • Regularly update management on supply chain dynamics and services impacting production.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is essential; familiarity with Epicor is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of fostering positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain or materials management within a manufacturing setting, preferably in aerospace.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certification in CPIM and/or CSCP is desirable but not required.
