Job Summary

The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining server infrastructure and related systems while upholding high levels of customer service and communication. This role will focus on systems management, including network, file and print services, virtualization, hardware and software support, managing directory services, patch management, system backups, SAN, monitoring and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot system hardware/software problems
• Implement and troubleshoot enterprise class IT solutions
• Manage active directory, user accounts, passwords, DNS, DHCP, certificate authorities, mailboxes, database, file level permissions, management of group policy and organizational units
• Maintains documentation and inventory for servers, hardware and software
• Participates in the IT Change Management processes
• Interacts effectively with others and clearly communicates verbally and in writing
• Provides end-user support via telephone, email, face-to-face, and remotely
• Participates in compliance activities that include audit log collection, analysis and reporting
• Maintains system monitoring tools to ensure the integrity and availability of all IT server resources, reviewing system and application logs
• Performs daily backup operations that include ensuring backups are successfully accomplished and the proper disposition of media
• Add and configure new services and hardware as required in support of break- fix activities or system projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree plus 2-4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator I, or Bachelor's Degree plus at least 1 year of experience as a Systems Administrator I and at least 1 year of additional Austal IT experience
• Experience with current Microsoft Windows server operating systems including active directory
• Experience managing VMware server virtualization environment
• Experience managing Citrix technologies
• Experience with patch management software
• Experience managing on premise Microsoft Exchange or O365
• Experience managing Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
• Ability to understand and comply with relevant department and/or corporate policies, procedures and guidelines as they pertain to company data and technology
• Experience using performance analysis tools to monitor systems
• Experience with performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as well as configuration of CPU, memory, and storage
• Ability to assist with developing and participating in disaster recovery exercises
• Knowledge of IT concepts, best practices, and procedures
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, and PDF software

Working Conditions

The employee may be exposed to humid conditions, bright flashing lights, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles at or below the PEL, toxic or caustic chemicals, and heat and cold.
