IT Systems Manager

Job Summary:
Austal is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Manager to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our server infrastructure, ensuring high levels of customer service and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support server infrastructure, including network, file and print services, virtualization, hardware and software support, and directory services.
- Implement and troubleshoot enterprise-class IT solutions, including patch management, system backups, and SAN management.
- Manage active directory, user accounts, passwords, DNS, DHCP, certificate authorities, mailboxes, database, file-level permissions, and group policy and organizational units.
- Maintain documentation and inventory for servers, hardware, and software.
- Participate in the on-call rotating schedule to ensure 24/7 support.
- Participate in the IT Change Management processes.
- Interact effectively with others and clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
- Provide end-user support via telephone, email, face-to-face, and remotely.
- Participate in compliance activities, including audit log collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Maintain system monitoring tools to ensure the integrity and availability of all IT server resources.
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring backups are successfully accomplished and proper media disposition.
- Add and configure new services and hardware as required in support of break-fix activities or system projects.
- Perform after-hours system support during scheduled and unscheduled outages and standard monthly patching requirements, as well as license server management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree plus 2-4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator I, or Bachelor's Degree plus at least 1 year of experience as a Systems Administrator I and at least 1 year of additional Austal IT experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Experience with current Microsoft Windows server operating systems, including active directory.
- Experience managing VMware server virtualization environment.
- Experience managing Citrix technologies.
- Experience with patch management software.
- Experience managing server backup and recovery tools.
- Experience managing on-premise Microsoft Exchange or O365.
- Experience managing Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
- Ability to understand and comply with relevant department and/or corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines as they pertain to company data and technology.
- Experience using performance analysis tools to monitor systems.
- Experience with performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization, as well as configuration of CPU, memory, and storage.
- Ability to assist with developing and participating in disaster recovery exercises.
- Knowledge of IT concepts, best practices, and procedures.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work individually and in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, and PDF software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of ITIL concepts, such as Change Management.

Additional Guidelines:
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.

The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud, + 90 dB.
