About the Role

As a Cytogenetics Technologist II, you will play a critical role in our laboratory team, working on cutting-edge projects and contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies.


Responsibilities
  • Perform high-complexity genetic testing and analysis, including cytogenetic and molecular techniques, to support cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Work independently on routine tasks, with moderate supervision, and contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and leadership to ensure high-quality results and efficient laboratory operations.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in cancer genomics, including knowledge of hematological disorders and related diagnostic testing.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior staff members and provide guidance on technical issues.

Requirements
  • BA/BS in a related scientific field, such as genetics, molecular biology, or biochemistry.
  • At least three years of experience in a cytogenetics or genomics laboratory, or completion of a formal certified training program.
  • Certification as CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM, or international equivalent, with ongoing documentation of continuing education.
  • Strong knowledge of cancer genomics, including hematological disorders and related diagnostic testing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with moderate supervision.
