About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytogenetics Technologist II to join our team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in performing cancer genomic laboratory procedures and contributing to the development of accurate clinical reports.

Responsibilities
  • Perform benchwork, analysis, and reporting of genetic or genomic assays with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the validation and implementation of new or improved processes, and assist with the development of quality management and quality control procedures.
  • Work independently on routine tasks, and make sound decisions regarding workflow in the absence of lead.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues, and represent the laboratory at SCCA meetings to address interdepartmental issues.
Requirements
  • BA/BS in a related scientific field, or completion of a formal certified training program in Cytogenetics/genomics and two years' work experience.
  • Certification as CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM or international equivalent, with ongoing documentation of CE comparable to ASCP programs.
  • Solid knowledge of Cancer Genomics of hematological disorders and related diagnostic testing.
  • Good Troubleshooting Skills, Strict Attention to Detail, Strong Communication Skills, and Strong Computer Skills.
