As a certified professional, you will play a critical role in performing cancer genomic laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate clinical reports, and contributing to the development of new diagnostic testing methods.
Key Responsibilities- Perform benchwork, analysis, and reporting of genetic or genomic assays with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to the validation and implementation of new or improved processes, and assist in the development of quality management and quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with senior technicians and leadership to troubleshoot equipment and assay issues, and provide guidance on technical issues within your area of expertise.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new lab staff, and contribute to the continuing education of staff through presentations and resource investigation.
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field.
- At least three years of experience in a Cytogenetics/genomics lab, or completion of a formal certified training program in Cytogenetics/genomics and two years of work experience.
- Certification as CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM, or international equivalent, with ongoing documentation of continuing education comparable to ASCP programs.
- Solid knowledge of Cancer Genomics of hematological disorders and related diagnostic testing.
- Strong communication and computer skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
