Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer - Measurement Specialist to join our team at Kinder Morgan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing design services and technical support for all electronic flow measurement (EFM) equipment used at our natural gas measurement and control stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate new EFM equipment and research peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Write application programs for Emerson FB3000 and Control Wave products using FBxDesigner and ControlWave Designer.
  • Develop and interpret Function Sequence Tables (FST) for Emerson ROCs and work with vendors on EFM panel design.
  • Provide factory acceptance and site acceptance testing of EFM systems and offer engineering support to operations on a daily basis.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues found in the field and use lab facilities to emulate and resolve issues.
  • Write documentation for EFM systems and train field personnel in the use of EFM equipment.
  • Apply the company's design and operating philosophy within the field locations to meet corporate goals for safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Develop and generate project scope documents, schedules, cost estimates, budget forecasts as required with moderate direction from supervisor.
  • Effectively prioritize workload between several projects and significantly contribute to meeting business objectives by generating and implementing project ideas.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited University, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience preferred.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an engineering degree.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with project management skills used in the development of project documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams, with a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company.
  • Competencies, skills, and abilities include organizing work for timely completion, maintaining functional and technical proficiencies, and accurately scoping out length and difficulty of tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with one or more of the flow computer types mentioned in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Prior programming experience with one or more of the application programming languages mentioned in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of measurement standards, policies, and procedures, as well as API flow calculation standards.
  • Experience working with relational databases, electrical design standards, and products pipeline operations.
