Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Mammographer-Imaging Casual Days professional, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exam Preparation and Execution: Ensure all exams are ordered correctly, charged, and tracked accurately.
  • Patient Communication: Communicate with patients before procedures to obtain history, explain risks, and what can be expected; communicate during procedures to monitor safety and comfort.
  • Image Acquisition and Quality Control: Position patients to achieve optimal image quality, select data, and set proper technique to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Image Interpretation and Reporting: View images on display screens to ensure quality, perform screening mammography exams, and prepare images and compile studies for radiologists.
  • Quality Control and Maintenance: Perform mammography quality control procedures, maintain records, and clean and maintain work areas and equipment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Replenish supplies, stock rooms, and assist in the reception area as needed.
  • Department Assessment: Perform department assessments, such as Joint Commission surveys, and alert the Lead Tech to any areas requiring immediate attention.
