Job Overview

**Job Summary:**

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

**Responsibilities:**

* Ensure accurate and efficient ordering, charging, and tracking of exams in our HIS/RIS system
* Communicate effectively with patients before and during procedures, explaining risks and expectations
* Obtain complete patient histories to assist radiologists in rendering results
* Enter data accurately, selecting proper transducers and techniques for each scan
* Conduct scans according to established protocols, annotating images as needed
* Review images with radiologists to ensure quality and accuracy
* Prepare images and studies for radiologists, relaying all relevant information
* Assist with amniocentesis, aspiration, and biopsies, performing preliminary studies to locate entry sites and provide needle direction guidance
* Call referring physicians for "wet readings" after reviewing images with radiologists
* Perform clerical tasks, including receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping
* Maintain and clean work areas and equipment, replenishing supplies as needed

**Requirements:**

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency in HIS/RIS systems and other medical software
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
